Self Contained Refrigerated Tanks
| Self Contained Closed Top Tank |
All our tanks can be fitted with dedicated condenser units. These stand alone refrigerated tanks are suited for schools, small lot wineries, research and development, yeast production, and etc where a central chiller is not an option or cost effective. There is no glycol involved thus saving the cost of a heat exchanger chilled glycol tank, piping, pumps and glycol.
The way it works is the inner wall of the tank has a copper tube wrapped around the full diameter and height. This coil acts as the evaporator coil so the liquid in the tank is directly chilled.
Construction:
As mentioned above the tanks inner wall is wrapped with copper tubing, a layer of foam insulation is wrapped around the tank and coils to minimize loss and protect the liquid being chilled from ambient temperatures. Then an outer wall of stainless steel is applied and welded onto the tank. This protects the insulation and makes the outside of the tank easy to keep clean. The condenser unit is placed between the legs of the tank and connected to the evaporator coil and charged with Freon.
The condenser unit is protected by a stainless steel grill.
